Do you need a Power Flush?

Over a period of time, a build-up of sludge and debris forms inside your central heating system. This type of obstruction accounts for around 80% of heating and boiler issues and the reason why the Power Flush is so vital.

Signs that you might need a Power Flush:

• System is slow to heat up
• Cold Spots in radiators
• Radiators cold at the bottom or top
• Noisy pipes
• Noisy boiler
• Blocked pipes and valves
• Boiler cuts out

Cleaning chemicals are pumped at an increased pressure through the system. Once at the correct temperature, the chemicals break down the sludge and sediment that has settled within the system. The power-flushing machine removes particles that are suspended in the chemical solution.

Once the sludge has been removed the system is topped up with clean water and the correct dose of inhibitor is added to prevent future corrosion. The process can take between four and eight hours depending on the size of the system and the condition that it is in.

Power Flushing should be carried out at least every five years and always when installing a new boiler. The savings made to your heating costs can usually pay for the Power Flush within the first twelve months.
